FAQs

General

  • This depends on your dog’s age, behaviour, and your goals. Puppy sessions are ideal for building strong foundations, 1-to-1 training is best for specific behaviour or obedience support, IGP sessions are for owners interested in the sport, and residential training may suit dogs who need more intensive, hands-on training.
  • Yes. Sessions are available in Dolgellau, and training outside Dolgellau may be available across LL and SY postcode areas. Please get in touch for a quote if you’d like training at your home or another suitable location.

Residential Training

  • At the end of your dog’s residential training stay, you’ll be shown what your dog has learned and how to continue the training at home. Follow-up sessions are also included to help you maintain progress and stay consistent.
  • Your dog will live in my home as part of the family, rather than in a kennel environment. Each dog has their own dedicated crate and resting area and will receive structured daily training tailored to their individual needs. This home-based approach helps dogs learn how to behave in real-life situations and environments.
  • Training takes place throughout the day and is integrated into your dog's daily routine. In addition to dedicated training sessions, your dog will practise new skills during walks, feeding times, settling in the home, social interactions and everyday situations. This approach helps create reliable, lasting results that transfer to life after training.
  • Owners are asked to provide their dog's usual food (dry food preferred), any medication they require, their regular collar, lead and any training equipment currently being used. You're also welcome to provide a favourite toy or comfort item.

Reviews

“Our young Labrador Mac was a mad bundle before his two-week residential with Gabby. He came home so much better behaved, and Gabby helped us understand our role in building his confidence and better behaviour. She offered clear guidance and encouragement throughout. I’d recommend the residential to anyone with a dog with boundless energy that doesn’t listen!”

— Abigail Emma Bell

“We had a two-hour session and Pip walked wonderfully on the lead, with no pulling and hardly any reaction to other dogs. I learned a lot about relaxing on walks and noticing the signs before Pip blows up. Really enjoyed the session and would recommend anyone struggling with their dog to contact Gabby.”

— Debi Nicholls

“Had my first session with Gabby today and I’m already seeing a difference in Zeus, my GSD. The hints and tips have given me confidence, and I’ve found they make a vast difference. I would highly recommend Gabby K9s dog training.”

— Mike Wanderingdog

“I wasn’t sure about residential training, but he came back a completely different dog. He’s so calm and relaxed, doesn’t pull on the lead and actually listens to me. Taking him for a walk is a pleasure now. I know it’s a long process and I need to keep following everything I’ve learned so far.”

— Anya Wiercioch

“Absolutely loved our sessions with Gabby. She pinpointed problems straight away and helped us correct them. Walking our dog has become so much easier, and building a bond with him is just magical. The sessions were fun too, with new games to direct his attention. Thank you for helping us better understand our dog’s mind.”
